“Durante a captura de imagens para o projeto “Experiências do Brasil Rural”, uma parceria da UFF com o Ministério do Turismo, cobrimos a festividade chamada Lambe Sujo. Uma dança tradicional que encena, dentre outras coisas, a alegria dos escravos libertos. No fim da festividade, os participantes, com os corpos cobertos por uma mistura negra usada na encenação, vão ao rio se banhar. Essa imagem de um dos participantes foi capturada justamente antes desse encerramento no rio e gravou, não apenas a luz, mas também toda a euforia desse momento.” Alex Souto Maior
“While capturing images for the project “Experiences of Rural Brazil”, a partnership between UFF and the Ministry of Tourism, we covered the festival called Lambe Sujo. A traditional dance that portrays, among other things, the joy of freed slaves. At the end of the festival, the participants, with their bodies covered in a black mixture used in the performance, go to the river to bathe. This image of one of the participants was captured just before the end of the festival in the river and recorded not only the light, but also all the euphoria of that moment.” Alex Souto Maior
